Abstract

The potential importance of exercise for psychosocial health and subjective well-being (SWB) has been the focus of researchers. The purpose of this research is to estimate the monetary value of sports participation for different dimensions of life satisfaction with the approach of mental well-being valuation. The current research is applied research in terms of its purpose, and in terms of the research data collection method, it is analytical-descriptive research that was conducted in the field. Panel data collected from the people of Urmia city were used to estimate the monetary value and estimate the model. According to Morgan's table, the statistical sample is 382 people. In this study, in order to accurately estimate the model and also based on the research of Thurman et al. (2022), 740 people were selected as a statistical sample by simple random sampling. To estimate the research models, GMM, OLS and SUR regression models were used with the help of SPSS and Eviwes software. The results of the research showed that sports hours have an effect on various dimensions of SWB such as life satisfaction, health, work, income and leisure time with the three estimation methods mentioned. But in linear regression (OLS), this effect was greater. Also, the monetary value of sports participation was the highest amount for the two dimensions of leisure time and income of the people of Urmia, and the lowest amount for the level of health.
